- Be a high-school senior of African descent (for example, African American, African, or Ethiopian).
- Plan to attend a four-year college or university in the fall of the year following high-school graduation.
- Plan to pursue a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or select business programs (such as finance, business administration, or marketing).
- Demonstrate a passion for technology.

Victor and Gayle Mavar Scholarship
Requirements:
- Provides support to students with learning disability who are graduates of a Mississippi High School. (Preference will be given to students with dyslexia and students with vision or hearing impairment, though any student meeting the above criteria will be considered for the award.
- All interested students are encouraged to apply to Owen Graduate School of Management.
- The scholarship will be offered once a recipient is accepted to and enrolled in a current graduate school program.
- The scholarship can be awarded to students accepted in any of the graduate business programs at Vanderbilt.

Mississippi Educators 2019 National High School Essay Contest
Amount:
- Grand Prize $2,500 cash and an all-expense paid two-day trip to Washington, D.C., to meet the Secretary of State and tour the United States Institute of Peace. Winner also receives a full scholarship for a Semester at Sea upon the student's enrollment at an accredited university.
- Runner-Up $1,200 cash prize and a full scholarship to the International Diplomacy Program of the National Student Leadership Conference, held annually in Washington, D.C., and New York
Requirements:
- Open to high school students grades 9 - 12 whose parents are not members of the Foreign Service.

Junior Auxiliary of Hattiesburg
Junior Auxiliary of Hattiesburg will be awarding scholarships to qualified students from the Forrest and Lamar county area schools. Scholarships are awarded based on the applicant's qualifications. As a service organization, special attention will be paid to community service efforts.

The Dream Opportunity Scholarship
This scholarship is for students who have DACA or TPS status and who reside in locked-out states where they are either barred from attending college or required to pay out-of-state tuition. More information can be found here.
Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Scholarship
Requirements:
- Applicant must be a graduating high school senior
- Applicant must be accepted to an accredited 2 or 4-year college/university for Fall 2017 semester
- Applicant must submit the application and a brief statement (at least a paragraph) indicating the reason you should be the recipient of the Fall 20127 Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Scholarship on or before April 7, 2017, to his/her high school counselor.
- Application must be signed by a high school counselor
- Applicant must have at least a 3.0 / 90.00 GPA

Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Academic Scholarship
Requirements:
- Graduate from high school during the academic year in which the scholarship is awarded
- Possess at least a B+ (88) average
- Fully complete scholarship appplication and accompanying documents
- One letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor, community leader
- Submit the personal essay, "Why I should be awarded the Theta Sigma Omega Academic Scholarship"

Benjamin J. Deen and Liquori Tate Scholarship Fund
O'Neal Farish Education Scholarship Fund
The purpose of the O'Neal Farish Educational Scholarship is to provide an annual scholarship to children of ministers of The Presbyterian Church in America (PCA) enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or doctorate degree at an accredited two and/or four year college or university.

Mississippi Municipal League 2019 Scholarship Program
Three scholarships: The MML General Scholarship is open to all high school seniors and is co-sponsored by Mississippi Power Company; The MML Limited Scholarship is open to children or grandchildren of employees or elected officials of Mississippi municipalities and to high school seniors working part-time for a member municipality of the Mississippi Municipal League and is co-sponsored by Phelps Dunbar; The Mississippi Municipal Service Company Limited Scholarship is open to children or grandchildren of employees or elected officials of Mississippi municipalities that are members of the Mississippi Municipal Liability Plan or the Mississippi Municipal Workers' Compensation Group.
Rules: A student may only apply for one scholarship. To apply, a student must complete the application form and write an essay about "Why I Should Consider a Career in Municipal Government." The essay must be 2,000 words or less and typed double-spaced on plain paper. The student's name may only appear on the application.
